Synopsis
The Afghanistan men’s cricket team is set to embark on an exciting all-format tour to Zimbabwe, featuring two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is. Scheduled from December 9, 2024, to January 6, 2025, the series promises thrilling cricket action as the AfghanAtalan face off against Zimbabwe.
Series Schedule
The tour kicks off with three T20Is at the Harare Sports Club:
- 1st T20I: December 11, 2024
- 2nd T20I: December 13, 2024
- 3rd T20I: December 14, 2024
The ODIs will follow, also at the Harare Sports Club:
- 1st ODI: December 17, 2024
- 2nd ODI: December 19, 2024
- 3rd ODI: December 21, 2024
The series will conclude with two Tests at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo:
- 1st Test: December 26-30, 2024
- 2nd Test: January 2-6, 2025
Afghanistan’s Perspective
Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) Chairman Mirwais Ashraf expressed enthusiasm about the packed calendar, stating:
“This year has been quite productive for us both domestically and internationally. The all-format tour to Zimbabwe is a significant event, and we’re confident our team will rise to the challenge.”

Zimbabwe Cricket Chairman Tavengwa Mukuhlani highlighted the importance of the Boxing Day and New Year’s Test matches, describing them as iconic fixtures in the cricketing tradition.
“Matches between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan are always intense and exciting affairs, and we’re looking forward to another historic series.”
